Private Violin Lessons

Welcome! I am an experienced violin teacher in Pasadena CA and I offer private online violin instruction to children and adults via zoom.

I use a combination of pedagogical methods in my teaching, incorporating  the Suzuki Method, sight-reading instruction, music theory workbooks, games and interactive software, to ensure students receive a well-rounded music education.

Besides classical violin, I also teach contemporary style violin, fiddle and beginning improvisational technique, as well as music genres from around the world, including rock, blues, Scottish fiddle, and Middle Eastern music.

Lessons are available in 30, 45 or 60 minute increments. Check out the FAQ page for more information and Studio Policies.

To inquire into lessons, please email me via the Contact page form, with a short summary of what you are looking for and the experience level of the student.

I look forward to working with you!

Why are Music Lessons Important?

Violin lessons are beneficial for both children and adults. Learning to play an instrument is known to have the following benefits:

  • enhanced brain and memory development

  • improved concentration

  • stronger reading, science, and math skills

  • fine motor skill development

  • hand-eye coordination

  • emotional and physical health

  • higher levels of personal satisfaction

  • increased confidence

Beyond that, learning to play music is a rewarding and challenging experience, and teaches students about discipline, focus and hard work.

Playing an Instrument Can Benefit Your Brain

We have all heard that music education is important for brain development in children. Now neuroscience is proving why: (click here for a really great short animated clip on this subject).
